Camel Beauty Pageant?!

We are all familiar with beauty pageants. Miss Universe crowned their latest winner a few days ago, Miss India- Harnaaz Sandhu. Of course, most of us likely didn’t watch, as it is reported that viewership this year dropped 30% compared to the last contest in 2019. Perhaps there will be another scandal that will grab everyone’s attention again.

It was Miss Florida 2017- Genesis Davis- who *gasp* lost her title due to the grave mistake she made. She had the audacity to get her hair and makeup done by a professional. If you’re like me, you probably had no idea this is against the rules. We can look all the way back to the 1980s, when Vanessa Williams was stripped of her Miss America title- she had pictures published in Penthouse Magazine (definitely a pageant no-no).

Well don’t worry pageant ladies and whatever viewers are left, Saudi Arabia has done all the work needed to distract from your mishaps- with Camel Botox?!

Yes, you read that right. CAMEL. BOTOX. Apparently, there exists an annual monthlong festival, the King Abdulaziz Camel festival. These beauties (the camels) compete for over $66 million in prizes. So now you are probably asking yourself “How can I breed a beautiful camel and win lots of money”? *head scratch* Welp, I do not have that answer. I can tell you what not to do. Do NOT give your camel Botox, they will catch you. Saudi breeders did just that, and they even gave their camels face lifts and other forms of cosmetic procedures.
